New Candlewood Suites Hotel Adjacent to Minor League Baseball Stadium to be Supported by 100-Ton Ductile Iron Piles

A new 8-story Candlewood Suites hotel, located only blocks away from the new home of the Hartford Yard Goats Minor League Baseball Stadium in Hartford, Connecticut is currently under construction. After careful analysis, the project team of the new state-of-the-art hotel, identified the most optimal foundation support solution– Ductile Iron Piles.

Plans initially called for traditional 100-ton driven H-piles to extend through the silt and sand to terminate on rock around 35 feet. Ductile Iron Piles were selected as a faster and more cost-effective deep foundation solution to match the 100 ton piles on a 1:1 basis.

DuroTerra’s regional partner, Helical Drilling, is installing the 100-ton Ductile Iron Piles at this site.
